The Value Score analyzes ingredient quality, concentration, and market pricing to determine price-per-ingredient efficiency. Lower scores (1-3) indicate better value, while higher scores (7-10) suggest high markup. See our Terms of Service for more details.

Is my scan history stored online?

No. Your scan history is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not upload your personal data to our servers unless you explicitly choose to sync (if such feature is available).

Where does product data come from?

Product ingredient data is sourced from Open Beauty Facts under the Open Database License (ODbL). Pricing data is based on market averages and may vary by location and retailer.

Can I use Cosmetic IQ for medical advice?

No. Cosmetic IQ provides ingredient analysis and Value Scores for informational purposes only. It is not medical, health, or dermatological advice. Always consult a healthcare professional for skin concerns or product suitability.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Go to Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases." This will restore your Pro upgrade if you've purchased it on another device or after reinstalling the app.
